Direct withdrawal
We would be happy to help you set up an automatic payment program from your checking account if you should desire. Contact Susan Shands at sshands@benedictinewomen.org or 608-836-1631, ext. 141 if you are interested.

Pledges
You may spread commitments to the sisters over several years and pay in annual or quarterly installments. The Benedictine Life Foundation will send payment reminders upon request. A pledge can make it easier for you to give as generously as possible.

For example, you can pay a pledge of $3,000 in quarterly installments of $375 over two years; as annual installments of $1,000 for three years; or $750 for four years.

Gifts of stock or property
You may also direct gifts of stock or property to the sisters. We have an account with Merrill Lynch to facilitate the transfer of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities.

Planned giving
A planned gift to the Benedictine Life Foundation supports the future works of Benedictine Women of Madison. Planned gifts include:

Will
Bequests can be a fixed amount; a percentage or the remaining value of your estate after loved ones are cared for.

Charitable gift annuity
An annuity is an investment that pays a constant rate of return each year. A portion of the interest income may be tax free and a portion of the principal gift can be deductible the year of establishing the annuity.

Life insurance
Your gift of life insurance to a charitable organization is a gift that continues in perpetuity. You can specify how the cash value proceeds of the policy are used.

Charitable remainder trust
The purpose of a trust is to set aside money or other assets to provide an income for yourself or another person. Charitable remainder trusts offer the additional advantage of establishing a tax-deductible gift for qualified nonprofit organizations.

Living trust
A living trust is a flexible legal document through which you control the administration of your assets.

Memorial and honorary gifts
You can honor the special people who are an important part of your life with a memorial gift or honorary gift. A memorial gift is a lasting reminder of their past presence in your life and a remembrance of their unique contributions. An honorary gift is a living memorial to someone special in your life.
